Working for Media Literacy & Justice

First Amendment

“[P]aramount among the responsibilities of a free press is the duty to prevent any part of the government from deceiving the people and sending them off to distant lands to die of foreign fevers and foreign shot and shell.”

~ From Justice Hugo Black’s  Concurring Opinion - New York Times Co. v. United States “The Pentagon Papers Case” (1971)

We work to improve access to information, strengthen the public's understanding of and support for 1st Amendment rights and freedoms, educate the electorate on the important role of the media role in a healthy democracy, and promote fair and accurate journalism in Hawaii and around the world.

If you support our mission and would like to help us continue our work, please consider making a contribution to our organization.
