MCH Joins Numerous Media Groups in Expressing Concern with Comcast-NBC Merger

On January 29, 2011, Free Press issued a press release warning of harm to the public that will result from the purchase of NBC by Comcast from General Electric. Numerous public interest groups, including Media Council Hawaii signed, the letter to Julius Genachowski, Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission. In the press release, Josh Silver, the President of Free Press, warned that Comcast customers can expect to see their bills go up, as well as an "Orwellian amount of control over your media experience and your wallet." We couldn't agree more.
